These sessions offer advanced tuition and skills and are split into different groups based on age and LAMDA level. TheatreWorks is specifically structured for Ages 6-18 (there is also a separate stage for 3-6s TheatreWorks Early Years). The sessions are three hours in length and are split into different classes specialising in music and drama, there are also a range of other classes varying from dance to stage skills and film media. Each term is planned towards a curriculum and no two terms are the same. At the end of each term we have a production which is open to all family and friends to watch. Our Casting Agency is a new addition to the school. There is an increasing number of new talent searches and a broadening requirement for dramatic and musical artists we have started to build an association with various directors, production companies and other industry related open cast auditions and theatre auditions and we also hope to build further links with local Television companies. Big Red Curtain is currently communicating with major UK production companies BBC North and Granada Studios Manchester (famous for Coronation Street and other leading drama productions) to build links within the industry. As we continue building links we hope to build good connections within casting for TV, Theatre and even Film, as well as Advertising and Radio.
Casting doesn't stop at looking for existing productions and programmes that need actors and actresses we aim to create new scripts and commercial ideas through our own writers and students own ideas with a view to independently market show reels to production companies. The show reels we will create will include a cast made up of TheatreWorks and our Drama School, Exposition.
All of the Big Red Curtain Performing Arts students are eligible to be entered into our casting agency providing we have trained them for at least two terms (6months). PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT accept outside requests to be featured in our casting agency as we aim to assure the quality of our students and this lets us easily identify the exact needs of any Casting Directors Quickly.

Our Mission Statement, to provide high quality tuition of music, drama and performance. These skills will be taught to an examination standard with an option to take a formal exam. The skills gained will be both an advantage to everyday life and a career within the performing arts.
We aim to provide high quality tuition to all students interested in the performing arts.
By limiting our class sizes to a good student to teacher ratio and not focus on large class numbers unlike the majority of franchised schools
We aim to improve self confidence and performance skills whilst making the experience enjoyable and fun.
By encouraging everybody to interact with each other we create an exciting varied community cast. By making sure the group is happy it ensures our students can work easily together and learn more as a team.
We aim to prepare our students for a career within the performing arts or as a head start to Degree and Masters Courses.
By providing cross school and college curriculum courses alongside our program towards recognised qualifications in performing arts many of our students are trained to equivalent GCSE and A-Level standards before they reach 16years old, giving them an advantageous start to degree level courses.
We aim to showcase all new skills that students have learned openly for everybody to see their development.
We actively encourage performances showing visible improvements in performance and stage skills and a showcase or performance take place at the end of each term.
Wherever possible we aim to promote (when requested) any of our students to appropriate auditions and or jobs.
We offer a free casting agency directory listing to all of our students providing we have trained them for at least two consecutive terms unlike many other agencies we have no fee for joining and only take a small commission upon the student receiving any work. We are actively working towards building links with advertising agencies, screen and stage casting directors.
